When you sign up or sign in, we collect your name and email address via your chosen authentication provider (Google, GitHub, or email). We store the documents and content you upload to spaces you create or are invited to. We log access events, including who opened a space, when, and which sections they viewed, because that information is the product for the person who created the space.
We collect standard server logs including IP addresses and browser identifiers. We do not use third-party analytics trackers or advertising pixels.
We use your email address to identify your account, send you access notifications, and contact you about the service. We use access logs to power the activity feed visible to space owners. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
If you use the AI Q&A feature, your questions and the relevant document excerpts are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI for processing. Questions are not stored beyond the session or used to train models.
Documents in a space are visible only to the people explicitly granted access by the space owner. Section-level access controls further restrict what each person can see within a space. We do not read your documents except to provide the service, which includes indexing content for the AI Q&A feature if you enable it.
Your content remains in your account until you delete it or close your account. If you close your account, we delete your data within 30 days. Access logs are retained for 12 months.
You can request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion of your account at any time by writing to hello@thedataroom.app. If you are in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
If we make material changes to this notice, we will update the date above and notify active users by email.
